Easy ways to keep your makeup in place during the rains
It’s that time of the year again when the rain makes you crave for chai, pakodas and old Hindi love songs. The time when there is a cool breeze wafting through your window and your skin oscillates between very dry and very oily (hello, humidity), and your makeup constantly threatens to melt down your face. While the monsoon is a lovely season, it definitely has an impact on your skin and can alter its look and feel. This means the way your makeup sits and stays also changes. If you feel like this season makes your glam look hard to set or the cakeyness is unbearable, we bring you some tips from Anupma Katyal, National Creative Director, Lakmé Salon to help you sail through the season.
Skin: Since your skin could get dry during the monsoon, make sure you keep it hydrated -- yes, even if you have oily skin. Skipping moisturiser is a cardinal skin sin, which is best avoided. Use the Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream, which provides up to 48 hours of intense hydration, leaving you with plump, nourished skin.
Base: Keep your base light with the Lakmé Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse, which blends in seamlessly to give you a smooth, even-toned finish. Its new SPF8 formula gives you a peachy soft and natural glow, while protecting you from UV rays.
Set it right: Once your base is ready, set your makeup with the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet And Dry Compact. Enriched with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B7, this compact gives you a natural glow while its SPF 17 provides sun protection. If you’re into multi-tasking products, you could opt for the Lakmé 9to5 Primer + Matte Powder Foundation Compact, which gives you matte finish and so is perfect for the monsoon.
Eyes: Waterproof is your BFF this season, so look out for gel eyeliners or ones that are certified to be waterproof. The Lakmé 9to5 Naturale Gel Kajal is infused with the goodness of aloe vera and calendula oil. It gives you a rich, intense finish and is waterproof as well. You can also try the LakméEyeconic Liner Pen Fine Tip, which is long-lasting, easy to apply and waterproof.
Lips: Matte lipsticks or lip stains are your best bet this season. Matte lipsticks give you a fuller, longer-lasting look, which is less prone to transfer. Lakmé offers multiple matte lipsticks, including the Lakmé Cushion Matte, Lakmé Forever Matte Liquid Lip and the Lakmé Enrich Lip Crayon, all of which come in a variety of hues to suit different skin tones.
