Five Runway Inspired Hairstyles to Try This Wedding Season

Fashion Week just recently closed its doors, but the hairstyles that it flaunted on the runway continue to be in trend. We cannot help but be in awe of these hairstyles that look so effortless and gorgeous. As they say, the wedding and festive season is the best time to experiment with your hair and try out new hairstyles we otherwise wouldn't have worn. Whether you're in the mood for the simple half up half down, the textured ponytail, or waterfall braid, these runways inspired bridal hairstyles are exquisite yet doable and simple. Our in-house expert, Audrey D’Souza, Lead Educator - Hair, Lakmé Salon shares how you can do it all.

No time for an elaborate hairstyle? The Half up half down is your savior. This trusty hairstyle takes two minutes to master and looks great with every wedding outfit. Section a lock of hair from both sides of your head. Take both the locks from each side and secure them together with a hair tie. Use the TIGI Bed Head Masterpiece Massive Shine Hairspray to add that extra shine to keep flyways at bay and hold the hairstyle in place. And there you go!

2. The Dutch Braid Bun

Can't make up your mind between the classic braid or hair bun for your wedding look? How about the romantic and beautiful Dutch braid bun? First, begin by braiding a nice relaxed Dutch braid across your head. Point to note, keep your Dutch braid relaxed and diagonal. Make sure to leave a few strands out while braiding. Gather the leftover hair into a low messy bun at the nape of your neck, dress with fresh flowers and a maang tikka to add a touch of glam. We recommend using the Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Spray Flexible Hold Hair Spray to set the Dutch bun braid in place.

3. Textured Ponytail

For all the curly and wavy-haired girls out there, the textured ponytail is one of the easiest yet most flattering hairstyles for you. Start by using the TIGI Bed Head Control Freak Frizz Control Serum to tame the frizz and enhance the curls. Brush your hair back into a ponytail and secure it with a hair tie. Pull a few strands out at the forehead to frame your face. We recommend tying your ponytail at level with your ears. Gently loosen the hair in different spots near your ponytail with your fingers to get a messy look. To create texture to your ponytail, spray the TIGI Bed Head Masterpiece Hair Spray and gently backcomb your ponytail. Finish off with the Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Spray Flexible Hold hair spray to hold your ponytail in place.

4. Textured Bun

The textured bun suits all hair types and complements different festive outfits. But beware the textured bun isn't the same as its counterpart, the messy bun. First, start by adding texture to your hair. Our curly hair and wavy-haired women can use the TIGI Bed Head Oh Bee Hive Matte Dry Shampoo to create added texture, while our straight haired friends can use TIGI Superstar Queen for a day first curl their hair with an iron and then spray the TIGI Bed Head Oh Bee Hive Matte Dry Shampoo.Next, divide your hair into two portions using the ear as the dividing line and create a ponytail with the lower section. Use the TIGI Bed Head Masterpiece Hair Spray and gently backcomb the lower ponytail. The top section is the most important part of the textured bun. Section out the front portion into different parts. Spray the TIGI Bed Head Oh Bee Hive Matte Dry Shampoo and gently backcomb the section. Repeat the step as many times as possible without disturbing the curls. You can also add the Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Spray Flexible Hold hair spray at this stage to add more texture. Once done, take a strand of hair from the top portion and twist it along with the lower ponytail to create a rope-like effect. Secure the strands to the head with a bobby pin. Repeat this twisting and fastening process for all strands leaving one big hair strand behind. We recommend spraying your bobby pins with the Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Spray Flexible Hold hair spray as this prevents the pins from slipping and stays firm.

5. Waterfall Braid

For starters, prep your hair usingTIGI Superstar Queen for texture and support. Then start with an extreme partition on the right side of your head. Divide the leftover hair on the left side and create a French braid (cross the back strand over the middle, followed by the front strand of hair over the middle, and once again cross the back strand of the middle, keep this strand in your hand). Once this step is complete, you need to add more strands of hair into your braid. Take a new hair strand next to your existing braid and combine it with the one in your hand. With this combined strand create another French braid. Repeat this process till you reach the end of your hair and there you have your waterfall braid. Finish off with the Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Spray Flexible Hold  hair spray to hold your waterfall braid in place.
